Diadasia (Coquillettapis) bituberculata ( Cresson, 1878) View in CoL

[ Lectotype: ANSP; ♂ California, USA; spring-summer 1873]

Diadasia bituberculata View in CoL is almost exclusively found within the CFP. The BBPT collected 20 females and 15 males from various ecoregions of the CFP. Based on both previous records and our own findings, its flight season typically spans from March to June in sync with their host plant. This species is a specialist on Calystegia macrostegia ( Schlising 1972) View in CoL ; however, the BBPT has also collected females and males on Eriodictyon View in CoL flowers in Sierra San Pedro Mártir and Sierra Blanca. See fig. 93.
