[ Lectotype: ULQC; ♀ Vancouver , British Columbia, Canada]
This species occurs from central Mexico to British Columbia, Canada. In BC , Agapostemon obliquus has been previously reported in the Coastal Sage Matorral in August 1981 ( INHS), and March 1992 ( CNIN). We reviewed one female collected in the Succulent Coastal Sage in April 1963 ( CASC). Additionally , the BBPT collected four females: two in the Coastal Sage Matorral in September 2020 and two in April 2021. Voucher specimens are in MABC (2 ♀) , and ECOAB (2 ♀) . See fig. 168.
Agapostemon (Agapostemon) peninsularis Roberts, 1972 View in CoL
[ Holotype: CASC; ♂ Magdalena Bay , Baja California Sur, Mexico; 30 May 1925]
Agapostemon peninsularis inhabits southern California, USA and the BCP . Based on our own field experience and the data of preserved specimens, it is a habitat specialist on sand dunes. We reviewed 29 specimens (23 ♂, 6 ♀) collected in the Succulent Coastal Matorral , Central Desert , Vizcaíno Desert , and Magdalena Plains ( CASC). The CARCIB team collected two females in the Vizcaíno Desert ( BC) in July and September 2016. Additionally , the BBPT collected one female in the Coastal Sage Matorral in May 2022, and three males in March 2023 and 15 females in April 2023 in the Succulent Coastal Matorral ( MABC). See fig. 168 .
