Zacosmia maculata (Cresson, 1879) View in CoL

[ Lectotype: ANSP: ♀ Nevada, USA]

Zacosmia maculata View in CoL exhibits a broad distribution spanning from southern Canada to northern Mexico along the western side of the Rocky Mountains. This species is a brood parasite on bees of Anthophora (Micranthophora) Michener (2007) . Within the BCP, it had only been recorded in the Sarcocaulescent Shrubland in 1994 ( GBIF 2023). We examined one female collected in the Coastal Sage Matorral in May 1980 (SDNHM). Additionally, the BBPT collected 32 specimens (27 ♂, 5 ♀) in the Coastal Sage Matorral, Chaparral, Baja California Mountains, Lower Colorado Desert and Central Desert (Supplementary Material 1). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 139.
