Megachile browni View in CoL is considered a rare species that specializes on pollen from desert-dwelling plants in the family Fabaceae View in CoL including Olyneya A. Gray, Parkinsonia View in CoL L., Prosopis L., and Psorothamnus Rydb. ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL . Within the BCP, this species has been recorded in the Lower Colorado Desert by UCRC and in the Tropical Dry Forest by SDNHM (iDigBio 2023). The BBPT collected seven females in the Lower Colorado Desert in May 2021. Voucher specimens are in MABC (4 ♀), and ECOAB (3 ♀). See fig. 219.
