Megachile (Chelostomoides) prosopidis Cockerell, 1900 View in CoL

[ Type: USNM; ♀ Mesilla , New Mexico, USA; May 10, 1895]

This species inhabits the xeric regions of northern Mexico and the southwestern USA. Within the BCP, it is restricted to the northernmost ecoregions. The BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in October 2020 (1 ♀) , and the Lower Colorado Desert in June 2019 (3 ♀) , and May 2021 (4 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC (1 ♀) , and ECOAB (7 ♀) . See fig. 222 .
