[ Lectotype: ANSP; ♂ Texas, USA]

Megachile gentilis occurs in northern Mexico and the western USA. Within the BCP, there are preserved specimen records from the Chaparral, Gulf Coast, and Magdalena Plains ( BBSL). The CARCIB team collected this species in the Gulf Coast (1 ♀, 1 ♂) in October 2015 and July 2016, and Magdalena Plains in June 2017 (1 ♂) . Additionally, the BBPT collected this species in Coastal Sage Matorral in June 2020 (2 ♀) , May 2022 (2 ♀) , and September 2022 (1 ♂); Lower Colorado Desert in June 2019 (5 ♀) ; and Gulf Coast in November 2020 (1 ♂) . Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 223 .
