[ Holotype: CASC; ♀ Puerto Ballandra , Isla del Carmen, Baja California Sur; May 22, 1921]

This species inhabits the deserts of northern Mexico and the southwestern USA and specializes on pollen from desert Fabaceae plants including Parkinsonia L. and Prosopis L ( Fowler 2020). Within the BCP, it has been collected in the Lower Colorado Desert and the Gulf Coast regions ( Cockerell 1924; GBIF 2023). See fig. 222.
