[ Lectotype: AMNH; ♂ Las Vegas , New Mexico, USA; August 11]

This species occurs in the arid and semi-arid regions of Mexico and the USA ( Gonzalez & Griswold 2013). In the BCP, it has only been recorded in the Sarcocaulescent Shrubland in November 1982 (BBSL). See fig. 200.
