[ Holotype: USNM; ♀ Strawberry Valley , 1,829 mts elev., San Jacinto Mountains, California, USA; July 16]

This species inhabits xeric regions of the western USA and BC, Mexico and specializes on plants in genera such as Chaenactis DC. and Encelia Adans. ( Fowler 2020) . Within BC, it has been recorded in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in May 1958 (EMEC). Additionally, we reviewed one female collected in Sierra Juarez in June 1983 (SDNHM). See fig. 256.
