Hoplitis (Proteriades) xerophila (Cockerell, 1935)

Hoplitis xerophila specializes on pollen from Cryptantha Lehm. ex G. Don ( Boraginaceae ) ( Fowler 2020) and inhabits the southwestern USA and BC, Mexico. Within BC, it has been previously reported in the Central Desert by SDNHM and BBSL ( GBIF 2023). We reviewed two females collected in the Central Desert in April 1982 (SDNHM). See fig. 255.
