Hoplitis (Proteriades) howardi (Cockerell, 1910) View in CoL

[Holotype: USNM; ♀ San Gabriel Mountains, 914 mts elev., Los Angeles Co., California, USA; June 16, 1909] Hoplitis howardi specializes on pollen from plants in the genus Acmispon Raf. ( Fabaceae ) ( Fowler 2020). This species is found in California, USA and BC, Mexico. We examined one specimen in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra Juarez in May 1981 (SDNHM). The BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in April

2022 (2 ♂), Chaparral in May 2021 (1 ♀), and April 2022 (1♂), and Baja California Mountains in May 2022 (1 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 252 .
