[ Holotype: CASC; ♂ Palm Springs , Riverside County, California; 21 Mar 1932]
This species specializes on pollen from Cryptantha Lehm. ex G. Don ( Boraginaceae ) ( Fowler 2020). Within the BCP, Hoplitis deserticola has been previously reported in the Succulent Coastal Matorral, Lower Colorado Desert, Central Desert, and Vizcaíno Desert by BBSL ( GBIF 2023).
