Megachile frugalis View in CoL is widely distributed from coast to coast in North America and it is abundant in the BCP. Cockerell (1924) reported this species in the Lower Colorado Desert and Gulf Coast. Additionally, there are preserved specimen records from the Coastal Sage Matorral, Baja California Mountains, Lower Colorado Desert, Gulf Coast, Magdalena Plains by ASUHIC, BBSL, SDNHM ( GBIF 2023). The CARCIB team collected this species in the Gulf Coast, Magdalena Plains, La Giganta Ranges, Tropical Dry Forest, and Cape Mountains between 2016 and 2019. The BBPT collected 28 specimens (15 ♂, 13 ♀) in the Coastal Sage Matorral, Chaparral, Lower Colorado Desert, Gulf Coast, La Giganta Ranges, and the Magdalena Plains (Supplementary material 1). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 231.
