[ Lectotype: ANSP; ♀ Bosque Co., Texas, USA]

Megachile inimica View in CoL occurs from Guatemala to the northern USA and specializes on pollen from Encelia Adans. View in CoL and Helianthus View in CoL L. in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL . Within the BCP, this species has been collected in the Coastal Sage Matorral, Baja California Mountains, Lower Colorado Desert, and Central Desert and Sarcocaulescent Shrubland with preserved specimen records in ASUHIC, SDNHM, and TAMU ( GBIF 2023). Additionally, the BBPT collected specimens in the Coastal Sage Matorral in October 2019 (1 ♀), and Chaparral September 2019 (2 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 231.
