Ashmeadiella (Arogochila) salviae Michener, 1939 View in CoL

[ Holotype: CASC; ♀ Eagle Rock , California, USA; May 9, 1936]

This species occurs in the southwestern USA and BC, Mexico and specializes on pollen from plants in the family Lamiaceae including Lepechinia Willd. , Salvia L., and Trichostema L. ( Fowler 2020). Within BC, it has been previously recorded in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in July 1980 by SDNHM ( GBIF 2023). The MABC team collected one female in the Chaparral in May 2021. See fig. 236.
