Type:— Holotype or lectotype has not been designated, but syntypes and related specimens have been deposited in NY (49186), S (F29273,29419, 29421) and TNS (F113944). Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992). Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II, III on Carex lenta D. Don ex Spreng. [= C. brunnea var. nakiri (Ohwi) Ohwi ] (Hon, Shi, Kyu) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992). Notes:—This species has been reported from China ( Tai 1979, Zhuang et al. 1998).
