Type:— Holotype or lectotype has not been designated, but syntypes or related specimens have been deposited in BPI (043542), NY (48707) and S (F34144, 34145).
Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).
Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II, III on Carex oxyandra (Franch. & Sav.) Kudo var. oxyandra (Hok) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).
Notes:— Aecidium leucanthemi DC. on Chrysanthemum species has been reported as spermogonial and aecial stages of this species in Europe, but these stages have not been found in Japan ( Ito 1950). This species is mainly distributed in Europe.
