Puccinia caricis-siderostictae (Henn.) Dietel

Basionym:— Uredo caricis-siderostictae Henn.

Homotypic synonym:— Dicaeoma caricis-siderostictae (Dietel) Syd.

Type:— Lectotype is selected and designated here because there are many specimens (syntypes) used for the original description by Hennings (1905); II, III on Carex siderosticta Hance , Japan, Kochi Prefecture, Kadokasayama , June 1903, K. Nakano, TNS-F114614, [MBT10021415]. Paratypes in S (F26626, 32647) and TNS (F114231) .

Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).

Hosts and distribution in Japan:—0, I on Cacalia adenostyloides Franch. & Sav. (Hon), C. kamtschatica Kudo (Hok), C. hastata var. glabra Ledeb. (Hok), C. nipponica Miq. (Kyu); II, III on Carex siderosticta Hance (Hok, Hon, Shi) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).

Notes:—Life cycle of this species was proved by Ito (1937) and Hiratsuka and Sato (1971) ( Hiratsuka et al. 1984). This species has been reported from China, Korea and Russian Far East ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1963, Tai 1979, Zhuang et al. 1998, Azbukina 2005, Ono 2019).
