Puccinia caricis-incisae Syd. & P. Syd.

Homotypic synonym:— Uredo caricis-incisae (Syd. & P. Syd.) S. Ito

Type:— Holotype or lectotype has not been designated, but syntypes and related specimens have been deposited in S (F32509, 32510, 32495, 32507, 32508).

Description:—See description of U. caricis-incisae by Hiratsuka et al. (1992).

Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II on Carex incisa Boott (Hok, Hon) ( Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).

Notes:— Ito (1950) and Hiratsuka et al. (1992) treated this species as U. caricis-incisae (anamorphic species) because only uredinial stage had been recorded. However, this species is suspected to be included into the group of Puccinia by phylogenetic analysis by Yamaoka (2017). Therefore, P. caricis-incisae is appropriate species name based on ICNafp Shenzhen Code ( Turland et al. 2018).
