Type:— Holotype in HH (54910); II, III on Carex mollicula Boott. Japan, Kochi Prefecture, Mt. Yokogura, August 1902, T. Yoshinaga No. 21. Isotypes in DAOM (78919) and TNS (F114234, 114702, 188471,191543, 191560). Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992). Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II, III on Carex mollicula Boott (Hon, Shi, Kyu) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992). Notes:—Taxonomic relationship of this species with Puccinia caricis-aphanolepidis (= P. pulchella ) should be examined. This species has been reported from China ( Tai 1979, Zhuang et al. 1998).
