Basionym:— Rostrupia scleriae Pazschke View in CoL

Type:—Location of the holotype specimen has not been found. Isotype in MIN (318593, 329712, 329713), NY (31565) and S (F26747).

Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).

Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II, III on Scleria terrestris (L.) Fassett var. terrestris (= S. doederleiniana Boeckeler ) (Ryu) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).

Notes:—Spermogonial and aecial stages of this species have been reported on Passiflora species ( Arthur 1917, Ito 1950), but these stages have not been found in Japan. This species is distributed in Central and South America, and Asia including China and Taiwan ( Ito 1950, Tai 1979, Hiratsuka & Chen 1991, Zhuang et al. 1992).
