Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).
Hosts and distribution in Japan:—0, I on Nymphoides peltata (S.G. Gmel.) Kuntze [= Limnanthemum nymphoides (L.) Hoffm. & Link] (Hon, Shi); II, III on Schoenoplectiella hotarui (Ohwi) J.D. Jung & H.K. Choi (= Scirpus hotarui Ohwi ) (Hon), Schoenoplectus triqueter (L.) Palla (= Scirpus triqueter L.) (Shi) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).
Notes:—Spermogonial and aecial stages have been reported on Nymphoides peltata ( Aecidium limnanthemi , A. nymphaeae , A. nymphoidis ) ( Ito 1950, Hiratsuka et al. 1992), but life cycle connections with these stages should be reconfirmed in Japan. This species is widely distributed in Europe and Asia including China and Taiwan ( Tai 1979, Hiratsuka & Chen 1991, Zhuang et al. 1998).
