Homotypic synonym:— Dicaeoma sikokianum (Dietel) Syd.

Heterotypic synonym:— Puccinia caricis-scabrifoliae Hirats. f. & Yoshin.

Type:— Lectotype is selected from specimens in TNS and designated here; II, III on Carex shikokiana Makino (= C. conica Boott ), Japan, Kochi Prefecture, Nanatsubuchi, April 1903, T. Yoshinaga, TNS-F240132, [MBT10021458]. Paratypes in S (F26592, 29383).

Description:—See Hiratsuka et al. (1992).

Hosts and distribution in Japan:—II, III on Carex conica Boott var. conica (= C. okushiriensis Akiyama ) (Shi), C. lenta D. Don ex Spreng. [= C. brunnea var. nakiri (Ohwi) Ohwi ] (Kyu, Ryu), C. scabrifolia Steud. (Shi, Kyu) ( Hiratsuka & Yoshinaga 1935, Ito 1950, Hiratsuka 1960, Hiratsuka et al. 1992).

Notes:—This species has been recorded in Japan. Taxonomic relationship of this species with P. sydowiana Zopf should be examined.
