Round, elliptical to irregular colonies, 7.3–168.8 µm diam., 2–4–8 celled, rarely more. Sheath firm in outer layer, diffluent in inner, brown to purple, conspicuous, rarely lamellate, smooth to slightly granulated. Cells spherical to hemispherical, 4.3–5.4 µm diam. Cell content homogenous to sparsely granulated, blue-green. Spores dark orange, solitary or in groups after released, 3.3–4.0 µm diam.
Habitat: —Tree bark and dry rocks.
