( ECOSUR!) .
Notes:— Pleurothallis amoena and P. violacea were simultaneously published by Richard & Galeottti (1845), but the description of P. amoena was listed first; since only recently Pleurothallis amoena was recognized as synonym for P. violacea (Hágsater & Soto Arenas 2003, Luer 2004), therefore the latter name has established priority as the species basyonym. Luer (2004) proposed that the specimen Galeotti 5228 is both holotype for P. violacea and P. amoena ; however, this proposal was incorrect. Because the description of P. violacea includes an illustration, herein it was chosen as its lectotype, leaving the Galeotti’s specimen as lectotype for P. amoena .
