Length: 9–16mm (34 specimens).
Collecting period: May – August, December.
Head: Black or brown; anterior part of clypeus, labrum and palpi brown, posterior part of clypeus black to brown (or paler); distributed with dense, fine punctation; cranium vested with golden and dark pubescence; head including eyes only slightly broader than anterior width of pronotum.
Antennae: A1 to A4 light brown with erect yellow setae, from A5 onwards dark brown to black, vested with depressed and erect black setae; antennomeres triangularly dilated from A5 or A6 onwards, A10 broader than long or breadth and width subequal.
Pronotum: Unicoloured red-brown to brown, surface anterior to transverse depression sometimes black or with a semicircular black spot anterior to middle; surface punctation anterior to transverse depression fine, densely and irregularly distributed, surface behind transverse depression more coarsely punctate; vested with anteriorly directed erect black and golden setae; length:width ratio 1.14:1 (broadest in middle).
Scutellum: Brown, finely punctate, vested with a few golden-yellow setae.
Elytra: Black, basal third red-brown to brown (side margins bordered black, in two specimens this redbrown part is reduced to a macula on each elytron), margined posteriorly by two yellowish pigmented transverse maculae (spanning from the lateral margin to mid-way towards suture) with dense, golden-yellow, depressed setae, between these maculae with a semicircular sickle-like pattern of pale setae (sometimes with a pale pigmented spot in the middle), apical third with a pale pigmented transverse fascia (not always pigmented towards suture), with dense, golden-yellow, depressed setae; disc regularly and deeply punctate in rows, diameter of punctures larger than interstices, interstices partly with tubercles; the black middle part without the first two or three rows of punctation, apex densely and very finely punctate; basal third with erect golden and dark setae, the black part with posteriorly directed and semi-decumbent, predominantly dark and isolated yellow (mainly at apex) setae; length:width ratio 2.21:1.
Legs: Brown to black, often paler at base; with more or less dense, golden-yellow, erect setae; tibiae with longitudinal carinae.
Ventral surface: Abdomen black to brown, pro- and mesothorax brown, metathorax black or brown with golden-yellow, depressed pubescence.
Aedeagus: Conspicuously asymmetrical, with tooth-like structures.
Distribution: China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam.
