Himalapyrochroa Young, 2004

At the time of its description, Himalapyrochroa was based on but a single male. Since then, I have seen several additional males as well as females. Both sexes differ from Pseudodendroides by having the tempora well-developed and subtruncate behind the compound eyes anterad the cranial neck ( Figs. 1–3 View Figs ). The temporal regions in Pseudodendroides are less prominent and gradually receding (e.g., Pseudodendroides niponensis (Lewis) , Fig. 4 View Figs ). Females of the Himalapyrochroa specimens I have examined also have relatively small compound eyes that are set less closely in dorsal view (OI = 21.5–22.8) as opposed to those of Pseudodendroides (OI = 29.2).
