Type series. Lectotype ♂, designated by Allsopp (2020b). AUSTRALIA. Holl. N. [New Holland, Australia]; in ZMH [image examined].

Diagnosis of males. Body 16 mm long. Head, pronotum, elytra, pygidium, and legs dark brown, ventral surface brown. Lamella of antennomere 4 as long as lamella of antennomere 5, antennomere 3 broadly triangular. Maxillary palp with apical palpomere broad, with an elliptical concavity on the upper surface. Pronotum with greatest width 1.75x mid length; anterior margin and posterior margins well defined, posterior margin with a sparse fringe of erect setae. Parameres ( Fig. 10 ) without a transverse apical process, dorsal margin sinuate convexly and ventral margin concave arcuate in lateral view, apical third evenly curved in ventral view.

Remarks. This name was used by sugarcane entomologists in the early to mid 1900s (e.g., Illingworth & Dodd 1921) for the species later described as Antitrogus parvulus Britton, 1978 (Childers canegrub) ( Miller & Allsopp 2000).

Distribution. Known only from the holotype, without a precise locality ( Allsopp 2020b, Fig. 37).
