REMARKS
“M. Roux” on the label is J. L. F. P. Roux who collected material in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and in the Near East ( Bauchot et al. 1990; Appendix) and published the volume Crustacés de la Méditerranée et de son littoral, décrits et lithographiés ( Roux 1828 -1830). Grapsus pharaonis was synonimised with Grapsus grapsus ( Linnaeus, 1758) by A. Milne-Edwards & Bouvier (1900: 111) and, subsequently, with Grapsus tenuicrustatus (Herbst, 1783) by Banerjee (1960), see Ng et al. 2008: 217. In the CAA, material collected by Roux in the Red Sea has 1835 as entry date.
