Distribution in Iran. Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari ( Ghahari et al. 2011), Golestan (Reuter 1876 under the combination Pycnoptera persica , female holotype from Astrabad = Gorgan; Kerzhner & Josifov 1999; Ghahari & Ostovan 2006), Kordestan (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2005), Mazandaran ( Ghahari & Ostovan 2006; Ghahari et al.

2008b), Tehran ( Ghahari et al. 2011), Northern Iran (no locality cited) ( Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997c). General distribution, hosts and prey. Azerbaijan, Iran; on hawthorn ( Farahbakhsh 1961), Malva parviflora ( Ghahari et al. 2011) , Vaccaria pyramidata (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2005) , whitethorn ( Modarres Awal 1997c) and Xanthium spinosum ( Ghahari et al. 2008b) , but also in cotton and rice fields ( Ghahari et al. 2011). Predator of aphids, mites ( Modarres Awal 1997c) and Bemisia tabaci Gennadius ( Hemiptera : Aleyrodidae ) ( Ghahari & Ostovan 2006).
