Diagnosis:— Handroanthus impetiginosus can be recognized by the lilac corollas (vs. yellow in H. albus and H. chrysotrichus ). It can be confused with H. heptaphyllus , but it differs by the leaflet with margins entire (vs. serrated in H. heptaphyllus ) ( Lozano & Zapater 2008).

Reproductive Period:— Flowers were collected in June, no fruiting data.

Distribution and Habitat: It occurs from Mexico to Argentina and Brazil (Gentry 1992, Lohmann 2010). Within the study area, it was registered in Foz do Iguaçu, planted as ornamental.
