Type data. Holotype male ( MCUB Ar-530), Colombia, Tolima, Mariquita, 490 m a.s.l. March 2009 (L.F. García, A. Rojas). Female paratype ( MCUB Ar-530), same data as holotype.

Complementary description of the female and remarks. Males and females of this species have been described recently ( Villarreal and García 2012), but the spermathecae were not described. The spermathecae of P. guipongai have the general pattern of the genus with two lateral finger-like and curved lobes and absence of the medial lobes. The chitinized arc is mask-shaped and 3 times wider than long, and lacks a gonopod.
