Diagnosis: This species can be distinguished from other Anthidium species by the following combination of characters: female, T6 with preapical lateral projection ( Fig. 18f View FIGURE 18 ); male, apical process of S8 acute triangular ( Fig. 19h View FIGURE 19 ), T7 lateral lobe acutely pointed with adjacent flanges to exterior ( Fig. 19f View FIGURE 19 ), S6 emarginate medially ( Fig. 19g View FIGURE 19 ).

Type localities. India: Jammu and Kashmir: Ladakh: Rupshu (abbotti), China: Xizang: Gyangtse ( philorum ) .

Distribution: China (Xinjiang *, Sichuan, Xizang); Iran, India (Jammu and Kashmir).

Floral association: Lotus sp. ( Fabaceae ) ( Nadimi et al., 2014).

Remarks: Wu (2006) recorded this species from Sichuan, China, but we could not locate a voucher specimen from there in this study.
