Anthidium (Anthidium) sichuanense Wu, 1993 View in CoL
( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 a–h, male, holotype)
Anthidium sichuanensis Wu, 1993: 1398 View in CoL , ♂.
Anthidium (Anthidium) sichuanensis Wu, 1993 View in CoL : Wu, 2006: 163, ♂ (redescription), Fig. 85. (incorrect publication as 1992).
Diagnosis: This species is known only from the male. The lateral lobe of S6 large and extending far beyond rest of apical margin, the median lobe of S6 with two strong projections distinguishes this species and the very similar A. (A.) flavotarsum Wu, 1982 . It can be distinguished from A. (A.) flavotarsum by the lateral lobe of S6 broad and blunt ( Fig. 27f View FIGURE 27 ) and metasomal terga covered with dense pubescence ( Fig. 27e View FIGURE 27 ).
Material examined: China, Sichuan: Wenchuan Xian, Yingxiu (31º24′N, 103º36′E), 900–1000 m, 1 ♂ (holo- type), 1.VIII.1983, leg. Xue-Zhong ZHANG GoogleMaps ; Xiangcheng Xian, Zhongriwu (31º24′N, 103º36′E), 3800 m, 1 ♂ (paratype), 5.VII.1982, leg. Xue-Zhong ZHANG GoogleMaps .
Type locality. China: Sichuan: Wenchuan Xian, Yingxiu .
Distribution: China (Sichuan).
Floral association: unknown.
Remarks: The holotype specimen was dissected, but the genitalia are lost; thankfully, Wu (1993, 2006) previously illustrated the main characters of the species. It is possible that A. sichuanense represents a melanic form of A. sikkimense Mavomoustakis which has similar T7 and S6, similar abundant long pubescence, and has very limited maculations on the terga.
