Tree 12 m. Young branchlets, leaf blades below, inflorescence and hypanthium puberulous with pinoid hairs. Young branchlets quadrangular, 5-nerved, above glabrous and lustrous. Flowers 5-sessile; stamens slightly dimorphic, connective slightly trilobulate, anthers bipored.

Distribution in Peru —Montane forests on eastern slopes, between 3050 and 3100 m.

Specimens examined.— PERU. Piura. Huancabamba: El Carmen de la Frontera, cerro Chinguela ; parte alta, límite de superior del bosque, 3077 m, 17M 677843 9432600, 25 October 2015, Diego F. Paredes, Marco Cueva & Elluz Huamán 539 ( NY, USM) .
