Pseudoanthidium Friese, 1898 View in CoL
Pseudoanthidium (Pseudoanthidium) : Anthidium (Pseudoanthidium) Friese, 1898: 101 . Type species: Anthidium alpinum Morawitz, 1873 View in CoL , designated by Sandhouse, 1943: 593.
Diagnosis: All Chinese species of Pseudoanthidium belong to the nominate subgenus that can be recognized by the combination of punctation of terga similar in diameter and density across the surface, without distinct apical depressed zone; apical margins of terga broadly impunctate (several puncture widths); pronotal lobe at least narrowly lamellate; hind tibia tuberculate; male sixth tergite without lateral spine; male third sternum with modified hairs; female clypeal apical margin covered with dense pubescence ( Litman et al., 2016). As now constituted, Pseudoanthidium typically has a blocky head and round metasoma in cross-section.
