Diagnosis. Female. Frontovertex less than one-third head width; occipital margin sharp; posterior ocelli closer to eye margin than to occipital margin; eyes reaching occiput posteriorly; malar sulcus present; facial impression moderately deep, with rounded lateral margins; toruli with their ventral margins below level of lower margins of eyes. Mandible with two teeth and a truncation. Maxillary palp 4-segmented, labial palp 3-segmented. Antennal formula, 1, 1, 6, 3; scape cylindrical, several times longer than broad; F1 at least slightly longer than pedicel; clava with apex obliquely truncate.

Mesosoma. Mesoscutum slightly convex with notaular lines in anterior half or absent; axillae convex, strongly raised above level of scutellum and with lateral margins carinate; propodeum about one-fifth scutellum length; mesopleuron posteriorly not enlarged and not touching base of gaster. Fore wing with linea calva open posteriorly; costal cell narrow, dorsal surface with a line of setae in apical third to half; submarginal vein without a triangular expansion; marginal vein longer than both postmarginal and stigmal veins. Tarsi 5-segmented.

Gaster shorter than mesosoma, triangular with apex pointed; cercal plates situated in basal third of gaster; hypopygium extending at most to mid-length of gaster; ovipositor at most slightly exserted; third valvula distinctly articulated with second valvifer.

Male. Unknown.

Hosts. Unknown.

World species and distribution. Parencyrtomyia contains two species, the type species described from Australia and the new species described in this paper. Noyes & Hayat (1984) recorded this genus from Vietnam, Solomon Is. and Papua New Guinea.
