1. Roperia tesselata (Roper) Grunow ex Pelletan Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2–8
References: Fryxell et al. (1986), p. 24, figs XXV, XXXII-3, 4; Lee & Lee (1990), p. 327–329, figs 1–19.
Samples: Moen2_ Halimeda View in CoL
Dimensions: 29.2 μm in diameter; 8 areolae in 10 μm in the valve center, 11 in the valve margin.
Diagnostics: Valve circular, areolae arranged eccentric, a distinct pseudonodule in the margin.
Comments: The areolae arrangement of specimens from Moen Island match the warm type of R. tesselata shown by Lee & Lee (1990). The pseudonodule on the margin also occurs in Actinocyclus , from which Roperia differs in the non-segmental arrangement of the areolae and in the silica flaps over the external rimoportula openings.
