Samples: Moen1_ Halimeda, Moen View in CoL 1_ Padina View in CoL

Dimensions: 8.9–9.9 μm in diameter, 15–16 areolae in 10 μm in the valve center, 19–22 in the valve margin.

Diagnostics: Small cells with undulated valves.

Comments: There are ten Thalassiosira species having a tangentially undulated valve ( Prasad et al. 2011), of which only T. cedarkeyensis has the small size and areola densities of the specimens from Moen Island. SEM would be needed to ascertain most of the taxonomic features used by Prasad et al. (1993) to distinguish among species.
