Type locality: Brazil, Santa Catarina, Nova Teutonia.

Holotype ♂ with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white paper: “ Brasilien [ Brazil] | Nova Teutonia | 27º11'B. 52º23'L [27º11'S 52º23'W] | Fritz Plaumann | ii.196 5 [in vertical position] | 300 – 500 m [in vertical position]”; (2) printed on red paper: “Holotipo”; (3) printed on green paper: “ MZSP ”.

Condition of type: left wing with R4 vein damaged. Missing part: left antenna.

Additional note: this species was not listed in the supplement of world catalog of the Stratiomyidae ( Woodley 2011) .
