Type species: Benglebra alami Mahmood & Ahmed, 1969 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. External characters as in generic description of Viraktamath & Webb (2019). Valve broad basally with median broad posterior projection or posterior angle acutely angled. Sternite VII broader than long, with posterior margin concave or convex, with or without distinct median convex lobe.

Remarks. The subgenus can be recognised by the following characters: crown rounded to face, without marginal carina; pronotum as wide as head including eyes; forewing with veins R 4+5 and M 1+2 confluent basally; male pygofer with process arising from ventral margin; connective V-shaped, with very short stem articulated with the aedeagus; aedeagus usually laterally compressed, C-shaped in profile, gonopore apical on caudal surface.
