Melanohalea olivacea View in CoL (L.) O. Blanco et al. (2004a: 883)

Melanohalea olivacea View in CoL had some unreliable reports from Argentina from the older literature cited by Grassi (1950). However, it was reported again from Tierra del Fuego as new to Argentina by Calvelo & Liberatore (2002). Esslinger (1977) did not recognize this very distinct species from the Southern Hemisphere in his monograph, and the species is not accepted from southern South America here as long as no studied specimens have been documented and published.
