Deinodryinus danielssoni Olmi 1998e: 37 ; 2006: 36; Guglielmino & Olmi 2015: 236 View Cited Treatment . Description. ♀ (not reared; tentatively associated; see remarks). Fully winged; body length 3.4 mm. Head yel- low-testaceous, except occiput black and ocellar triangle slightly darkened; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 8:4:9:9:7:5:5:5:5:7. Head shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures; anterior half of frons with median longitudinal furrow; frontal line absent; occipital carina complete; POL = 6; OL = 3; OOL = 7; OPL = 6; TL = 9; greatest breadth of posterior ocellus about as long as OL. Pronotum shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures, crossed by transverse impression separating anterior collar from posterior disc; lateral margins of posterior surface of pronotum rounded; pronotal tubercle reaching tegula. Mesoscutum and mesoscutellum shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.7 × length of mesoscutum. Metanotum shiny, unsculptured, with anterior margin not very convex and not raised into carina. Mesopleuron shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures, without tuft of setae on anterior third. Metapleuron rugose. Metapectal-propodeal disc completely reticulate rugose, without transverse posterior keel; propodeal declivity without longitudinal keels, reticulate rugose. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein slightly shorter than proximal part (9:10). Protarsomeres in following proportions: 8:2:4:8:17; no protarsomeres produced into hooks. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 83E View FIGURE 83 ) with one bristle situated further distally than proximal prominence. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 83E View FIGURE 83 ) with two rows of about 45 small lamellae (no lamellae much longer than others); apex with approximately 6 lamellae, among which one much longer than others; apex forming right angle with rest of protarsomere 5. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

♂. Fully winged; body length 1.9–3.1 mm. Head black, except clypeus brown and mandible partly brown and testaceous; head occasionally brown; occasionally (in specimen from South Africa, 32°57’732’’S 18°05’985’’E) clypeus with anterior margin brown-testaceous; antenna brown; mesosoma black, occasionally brown; metasoma brown; legs brown, with articulations, stalks of femora and part of tibiae and tarsi testaceous. Antenna filiform, setose; antennomeres in following proportions: 8:5.5:9:9:9:9:8.5:8:7.5:9. Head convex, shiny, finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures; frontal line absent; occipital carina complete; POL = 7; OL = 3; OOL = 5.5; OPL = 3; TL = 5. Occasionally head punctate and slightly granulate or with some irregular keels. Mesoscutum, mesoscutellum and metanotum shiny, very finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Occasionally mesoscutum slightly rugose near posterior margin. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.6–0.7 × length of mesoscutum. Metapectal-propodeal disc reticulate rugose, without longitudinal or transverse keels. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein shorter than proximal part (2: 7 in holotype; 3.5: 8 in paratype; 10: 11 in specimen from South Africa, 32°57’732’’S 18°05’985’’E); pterostigma less than 4 × as long as broad; veins surrounding BC and SBcostal cells generally as pigmented as veins surrounding Ccostal cell, occasionally less pigmented. Paramere ( Fig. 86A View FIGURE 86 ) usually about as long as penis, with one broad inner proximal branch wrapping penis; rarely paramere much shorter than penis. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Hosts. Cicadellidae ( Guglielmino et al. 2013) : in South Africa: Colistra parvulus (Linnavuori) .

Biology. The only parasitized host collected in Kogelberg Nature Reserve (Western Cape Province, South Africa) showed a dryinid thylacium in the dorsal side between head and pronotum. This dorsal position is usual in Deinodryinus species.

Distribution. South Africa.

Remarks. The above described ♀ specimen was not reared. It was associated tentatively with ♂♂ collected together in South Africa, 32°57’732’’S 18°05’985’’E. Only a single ♀ specimen is known.
