Vannoortia capensis Olmi 2007c: 33 . Description. ♂ ( Figs 263A, B View FIGURE 263 ). Fully winged; length 1.4–1.7 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous (with teeth dark) and clypeus brown; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; antenna and legs brown. Antenna filiform, very slender and long, slightly longer than body ( Fig. 263A View FIGURE 263 ); antennomeres in following proportions: 8:5:8:7.5:6.5:7:7:6. 5:6:7. Head convex, dull, strongly granulate; occiput concave, smooth, unsculptured; frontal line absent; central area of frons with slight short median longitudinal furrow; occipital carina complete; POL = 4; OL = 2.5; OOL = 3; OPL = 1; greatest breadth of lateral ocelli slightly shorter than OL (2:2.5); minimum distance from eye to occipital carina as long as OOL; temple very long, shorter than eye (3.5:5.5); clypeus with short median longitudinal keel; mandible with four irregular teeth. Palpal formula 6/3. Mesoscutum dull, completely granulate; notauli complete, posteriorly separated; minimum distance between notauli less than twice as long as breadth of posterior ocelli (3.5:2). In one of the two specimens from South Africa, 33°56.232’S 18°57.711’E, notauli incomplete, almost reaching posterior margin of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum shiny, unsculptured. Epicnemium exposed. Mesosternum distinct ( Fig. 264A View FIGURE 264 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc and propodeal declivity reticulate rugose, with areolae at least partly as large as tegulae. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein longer than proximal part (8:7); 2R1 cell open. Hind wing hyaline, without dark transverse band. In one specimen from South Africa, 33°59.030’S 20°49.128’E, fore- and hind wings slightly darkened. Paramere ( Fig. 264B View FIGURE 264 ) without inner apical and pointed expansion; basivolsella with apex parallel to distivolsella ( Fig. 264B View FIGURE 264 ). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
