Atractus snethlageae View in CoL Cunha and Nascimento, 1983a

Type locality. Colônia Nova, 10 km near Gurupi River, on the BR-316 highway, currently within the Cachoeira do Piriá , state of Pará .

Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, in Amazonia, with an isolated record in Argentina ( Plt. 180A View Plate 180 ). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia ( Plt. 180A View Plate 180 ), mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 180B View Plate 180 ). Observed in the field in primary and secondary forest ( Dixon and Soini, 1977, 1986, Martins and Oliveira, 1993; Cunha and Nascimento, 1983a).
