Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.15–3.26mm; female, 3.09–3.63mm. Width, male, 1.85–1.91mm; female, 1.80–1.85mm. Pronotum weakly cordate, scales of pronotum and elytra scattered, broad, suberect, plumose; elytra with basal margin not toothed at humeri; posterolateral area of elytra punctate. Tergite VIII in female emarginate in middle. Aedeagus as in Fig. 261 View FIGURES 260–262 .

Geographical distribution. Honduras (Comayagua).

Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of mixed liquidambar, oak and cloud forest leaf litter at an elevation of 2000m and of wet oak-pine forest litter at an elevation of 1950m.

Derivation of specific name. Named after Nancy A. Boase of Ottawa, Canada.

Material examined. 21♂, 5♀♀ ( CMNC, CWOB, EAPZ, USNM, UVGC). Holotype ♂ ( CMNC): HONDURAS: Comayagua. Mont. Comayagua, 18.0 km. E. Comayagua, 20.VIII.1994 -216E, 2000m, R. Anderson, oak/cloud/liquidambar forest litter berlese / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete boaseae sp. nov., R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: HONDURAS. Comayagua. Comayagua (18km.E.), Montana Comayagua, 2000m, 20.VIII.1994 -216, R. Anderson, oak/cloud/liquidambar forest litter berlese (12♂, 2♀♀ CMNC, CWOB, EAPZ, USNM, UVGC). Comayagua (18km.ENE.), Montana Comayagua, 1950m, 20.VIII.1994, S.&J. Peck, 94-52, wet oak/pine forest litter berlese (8♂, 3♀♀ CMNC) .

Chorological relationships. Sympatric with Theognete corderoi .
