27. Theognete ashei Anderson , new species ( Figures 93 , 103 , 112 )

Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 4.83–4.95mm. Width, male, 2.70–2.81mm. As for T. birdi but size smaller and elytral strial punctures not impressed on disk. Aedeagus as in Fig. 103 .

Geographical distribution. Honduras (Santa Bárbara).

Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at an elevation of 1850– 1870m.

Derivation of specific name. Named after James S. Ashe (1947–2005) of Lawrence, Kansas.

Material examined. 3♂ ( CMNC) . Holotype ♂ ( CMNC) : HONDURAS: Santa Bárbara. Cerro Santa Bárbara, 15km S.E. Penas Blancas, 1850m, 24.VIII.1994, S.&J. Peck, 94-58, cloud forest litter berl. / HOLO- TYPE ♂, Theognete ashei sp. nov. R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted . Paratypes: HONDURAS. Santa Bárbara. Penas Blancas (11.5km.S. & 5.6km. W.) , Cerro Santa Bárbara, 1870m, 24.VIII.1994 -220, R. Anderson, cloud forest litter berlese (2♂ CMNC) .

Chorological relationships. Sympatric with T. maturini and T. coleadesi .
