Etymology: Dedicated to the Société des Acarologues de Langue Française (S.A.L.F.).
Note: As noted by Vázquez & Klompen (2010), the genus and type species first appear in a conference held in 1974, but the proceedings volume appears in print just in 1979 ( Coineau & Hammen 1979).
