scutellaris group
In specimens of this group of species the posterior region of the pronotal disc is transversely wrinkled and the parameres are distinctly digitiform. The latter characteristic is also present in the myrmecoides species group. These beetles are particularly robust, having a size range from about 5.0 to 8.0 mm. Geographically these beetles range in distribution from southeastern Mexico to Brazil.
