Diagnosis. Scutum with a wide dark brown acrostichal stripe, dark dorsocentral stripes divided by the transverse suture, dark postalar stripe present; scutellum longer than wide, triangular dark brown mark from apex to middle of scutellum leaving a wide margin yellow; anepisternum and katepisternum with a large black mark; legs yellow, except all tibiae; ocellar triangle dark brown, not reaching apex of frons.

Description. Body length 3.5 mm; wing length 3.0 mm; light brown to yellow body pilosity. Head ( Fig. 29). Yellow; ocellar triangle black, reaching about halfway to apex of frons; occiput with a mesal black mark; ocellar setae reclinate and convergent; postocellar as long as the outer vertical setae, cruciate; a row of interfrontal setulae curved inwards; vibrissa slightly distinct, yellow, as long as the genal pilosity; antenna dark yellow; postpedicel rounded; 1 st aristomere yellow, remaining arista dark, with short and sparse pilosity; palpus yellow; proboscis dark yellow. Thorax ( Figs. 28; 30). Scutum yellow with black longitudinal stripes, acrostichal (mesal) stripe complete and as wide as half width of scutellum, dorsocentral stripe (inner) divided by the transverse suture, intra-alar (outer) stripe present; postpronotum completely yellow; scutellum yellow, 1.5 times longer than wide dorsally, with a triangular black mark from apex to middle of scutellum leaving a wide margin yellow; subscutellum dark brown; pleuron yellow, with a large black mark on anepisternum and katepisternum; 1 + 2 notopleural setae; legs yellow, except for the black basal ¾ of the tibiae; tibial organ yellow, reaching slightly longer than half length of hind tibia. Wing. Hyaline; tegula with yellowish setulae; costal sectors 1–4: 5, 5, 3, 2; halter pale yellow. Abdomen. Syntergite 1+2 yellow, remaining tergites dark brown dorsally; sternites yellow. Male terminalia ( Figs. 33–34). Epandrium round, wider than long posteriorly; cerci as long as wide in dorsal view, round apically, one subapical seta slightly longer than the remaining setae, distance between cerci shorter than half basiphallus width; hypandrium quadrate, with the inner projections closed; postgonite clavate, with one small seta basally; phallapodeme short and not bifid apically; basiphallus subtriangular ventrally; distiphallus striate. Female. Same as male. Terminalia ( Figs. 35–36). Segments 6–8 narrow; epiproct bare, with two pairs of setae; hypoproct pilose; cerci brown, long and narrow.

Etymology. The specific epithet ‘ infulatus ’ is derived from Latin, meaning wide stripe. It refers to the wide acrostichal stripe on scutum.

Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas, Pará), French Guiana (Mitaraka).

Comments. The subscutellum coloration is variable from a longitudinal mesal dark stripe to the entire subscutellum being dark. The dark triangular mark on scutellum sometimes extends beyond the anterior half. Holotype with right arista, fore legs and mid and hind left legs lost, terminalia dissected.
